My wife and I have had the pleasure of engaging Encore Building (P/L) to renovate and restructure the balcony of our penthouse in Pyrmont. The site is on the 21st floor of a large building of 212 apartments; the balcony is at the edge of the building overlooking Cockle Bay. The restructure involved the whole of a modest-size balcony of around 40 square metres and included the installation of a panel of folding frameless glass doors, a roof with tilting panels and a full length glass wall which replaced a row of short balustrade. The job was complex due to its high location, risks associated with working at a building edge and the relative limitation of the building's lift capacity. Todd and his staff were very professional in the entirety of the engagement. They were efficient in their overall performance and in their management of the site (and our apartment) from start to finish on each day. They related well with us as owners, with our neighbours and with the Building Management staff. They respected the fact that we remained resident in our apartment while the balcony works were in progress. The resulting structure and products have been outstanding. As retirees, we have found their performance to rank the highest among our past experiences with builders and tradesmen and well ahead of the second.
